Fall Prevention Awareness event

Falls are the leading cause of injuries for older adults. In fact, one out of every three people over the age of 65 will experience a fall each year. Luckily, many falls are preventable.

Tioga Opportunities, Inc.’s Department of Aging will be offering tips and suggestions to help you reduce your risk of falling on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Countryside Community Center located at 9 Sheldon Guile Blvd. in Owego.

Stop by their information table to pick up a variety of pamphlets and freebies to increase your knowledge and help prevent falls. For more information, call (607) 687-4120, ext. 331.
