Woodshed Prophets return to Bike Night on Wednesday

Woodshed Prophets return to Bike Night on WednesdayPictured, Woodshed Prophets will perform for Bike Night on Wednesday.

The skies were clear for Bike Night in Owego last week and a performance by City Limits, a 7-piece band from Ithaca, N.Y. This Wednesday, Woodshed Prophets will return to Bike Night for a 6:30 p.m. performance.

Woodshed Prophets has been together now for eight years, but prior to this four-piece band forming, Rob Stachyra (guitar and vocals) was in Dirt Farm and Ed Gliha (bass and vocals) was part of Fetish Lane.

Rob and Ed first met when Dirt Farm played at the Fetish Lane’s festival. The two eventually formed Woodshed Prophets.

Dan “Birddog” Dunham (drums and vocals) and Dan Hardy (guitar and vocals) came from western New York and moved to Sidney, N.Y. Ed met the two and soon formed the complete band we know today.

Some of the band’s fans have invented the unique phrase “power twang” to describe their sound, but the members categorize themselves as being in the folk / rock / Americana style.

The band has performed at Bike Night multiple times and is excited to play again this year.

You can catch Woodshed Prophets playing at Bike Night on Aug. 16 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and right at the height of the summer season.

The sponsors, and the area businesses that support it make this free community event possible.
