Thanks from the Twin Tiers Honor Flight

Dear Editor,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Twin Tiers Honor Flight (TTHF), I want to thank the community for their support of our recent Ride for the Memories and TTHF Reunion.

Hosted by Finger Lakes Harley-Davidson and organized by Kent Tryon and the Patriot Guard Riders, the ride honored WWII veterans Leo Krolak (Elmira) and William Smith, Jr. (Binghamton). We also recognized retired Ithaca Chief of Police, John Barber, and Ithaca’s Officer Colin, who was inducted into the Patriot Guard Riders as an honorary captain with an official vest and a fun moment on a trike.

A surprise greeted U.S. Army Sgt. Bryant Joyce as he was given a motorcycle and custom helmet in gratitude for his service.

Thanks to Tioga Downs for its sponsorship, the band Lithium Highway, Cabot Creamery, WENY, WHCU, 4imprint.com, Pink Zebra, the Corvette Club (which offered rides for veterans), Frito-Lay, Sweeney’s Market, the NY Giants, Chip and Tammy Longabaugh, Casey Gallagher, Krazy Biker Kats, Mary Ann Hamilton, and the Endicott Dunkin’ Donuts for their donations. Thanks to all donors, volunteers and exhibitors!

Veterans, guardians, and volunteers from every mission enjoyed the picnic. We plan to invite everyone back next year!

Sincerely,

Nancy Kane,

Director and Co-Founder
