Over the last two years, Original’s Bar and Lounge has emerged as a Friday night hotspot for live music and entertainment in Owego. With an emphasis on original music, crossing a variety of genres, Original’s is responsible for producing never before seen musical acts in Owego, and this August is no different. Original’s will be featuring eight new musicians during the month of August.
Premiering for their Owego debut on Friday, Aug. 11 will be The Nate Gross Band, featuring lead singer and Blues stylist Nate Gross, Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame drummer Bobby T, and a virtuoso of the Hammond B3 Mark Brown.
Nate Gross is an old soul. At 35 years old, he has accomplished great success in the industry playing the styles of music often times set aside in this new generation of pop music such as the blues, jazz, traditional country, rhythm and blues and Americana. All these elements make up the musical landscape of the 20th Century, and they are not lost with Nate Gross. Nate fuses these styles together like a cross-country trip down Route 66. Like Keith Richards once said, “If its not about the Blues, then why bother?”
Joining Nate is Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame drummer Bobby T. Bobby began playing drums at the age of 12, with local performances across Upstate New York. His passion eventually led him to a musical explosion in the late 60’s. After appearing on The Dick Clark Show, playing Carnegie Hall, and regularly reaching the top 12, Bobby’s band, The Music Explosion, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Rounding out this dynamic duo is Philly based musician and composer Mark Brown. Mark leads the very popular Philly based group Hambone Relay. With roots in the Jazz and Funk music scene, Mark adds to the already grooving sound of Nate and Bobby T.
