The Tioga County Fair kicked off at noon today with a ribbon cutting, several proclamations, and a visit by Senator Fred Akshar and a representative from Congressman Tom Reed’s office. Following the opening, the harness races kicked off the 151st Tioga County Fair in Owego.
Members from 4-H were already at the fair with their animals, and vendors were working to set up their concessions.
Other activities are scheduled for opening day to include the Little Miss and Mister Tioga Contest
at 5:30 p.m., and then the demolition derby will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The fair board has also notified the public that the amusement rides will not be running this evening as planned. They encourage everyone to Follow them on Facebook for updates. You can also visit tiogacofair.com for up to date fair information.
