Donate your veggies to Harvest Share

Donate your veggies to Harvest Share

Got too many veggies? You can donate them to the Harvest Share. Most gardeners have been there; it is late July and the squash is growing more quickly than you can eat it. Your friends and neighbors have plenty, too.

What to do with the bounty? Donate your extra produce to folks who could use some fresh, healthy vegetables by dropping off the produce at the Harvest Share stands.

The Harvest Share stands are filled with gardeners’ extra vegetables and available to all to help augment Tioga County residents’ meals. The stands are located at Tioga Rural Ministry at 143 North Ave. in Owego and at the Spencer Lions Club community garden at the Inspire Building located at 57 East Tioga St. in Spencer. Simply drop off what you don’t need – it is that easy.

For more information, contact Barb Neal at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tioga County by calling 687-4020.
