Impacting Hunger at the Sayre Christian Church

Impacting Hunger at the Sayre Christian Church“Copper Coins” will headline the SummerFest Music Festival to Impact Hunger at the Sayre Christian Church, located at 427 S. Keystone Ave in Sayre, on Saturday, July 22.

The Sayre Christian Church is planning for a busy summer in 2017, filled with lots of good music, good food and great fun. Once again, the church has set a goal of feeding 15,000 school children in a poor 3rd world village, increasing their non-perishable food donations to local pantries, and continuing to raise awareness of hunger issues in our community and beyond.

The church will be offering a new event this summer with a Christian Music Festival, “SummerFest to Impact Hunger,” which will be held on Saturday, July 22, from 1 to 7 p.m. on the church lawn. They will be partnering with Christian band “Copper Coins”, from Waverly, to provide an afternoon of inspirational music, speakers and booths (on hunger issues), games for all ages, great food, a basket raffle and more.

“Copper Coins” will headline this free event from 5:45 to 7 p.m. with a song list that includes covers by Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Hillsong, Matt Redman, Casting Crowns, Leeland, Newsboys and more, as well as a few original songs written by Copper Coins.

The band recently stated, “We are in the process of writing more original songs and in time hope to have a set list of 50/50 covers and originals to share with you about who God is and what He means to us.”

“Copper Coins” also invited some friends – “A Few More Faithful,” a high-energy blues, gospel and rock band from Horseheads, N.Y., who will perform from 4 to 5:15 p.m. Also, DiAnza Macool, an amazing vocalist from Hornell, N.Y., will perform from 2:30 to 3:40 p.m.

The afternoon of music will begin at 1:15 p.m. with “Matthew’s Hope”, which draws from the musical talents of the Sayre Christian Church and friends, performing a mix of Christian covers and original songs of hope and peace.

Throughout the afternoon there will be games and activities including a dunk tank, great food, and opportunities to understand and make an impact on hunger, locally and around the world.

Donations can be made that day or in advance to Sayre Christian Church, 427 S. Keystone Ave., Sayre, Pa. 18840, or online at http://events.stophungernow.org/SayreChristianSept2017.

The culmination of this summer’s efforts will be a Food Packaging event at the church on Saturday, Sept. 30, where the goal is to feed 15,000 hungry school children in a 3rd world village.
