Scoville-Meno Family of Dealerships launches children’s summer food drive

The Scoville-Meno Family of Dealerships has begun a summer food drive at its locations in Owego, Bainbridge and Sidney.

“Summer is a particularly difficult time for families, some of whom rely on school district meal programs to keep children fed,” said Scoville-Meno President Stephen Scoville. “We felt we could reach out to those who might be visiting our stores for help in building up local food pantries in the communities we serve.”

Visitors to any Scoville-Meno Dealership are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items for children, particularly cereal, peanut butter and jelly and juice boxes. Contributors will receive a coupon for a free car wash. Scoville-Meno employees have also begun assembling food resources.

Town Square Media will provide announcements directing listeners to bring food to the dealerships. The food drive will last through Labor Day.

The Scoville-Meno Family of Dealerships includes four area dealerships – Scoville-Meno Auto Plaza in Owego, a GM dealership; Scoville-Meno Chevrolet-GMC, in Bainbridge; Scoville-Meno Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep in Sidney; and Scoville-Meno Honda in Oneonta, N.Y.
