Multi-Species pasture walk on McRey Farm

Interested in learning about rotational grazing for mixed breeds of livestock? The South Central NY Dairy and Field Crops Team is hosting a multi-species pasture walk on Thursday, June 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. in Broome County at McRey Farm, 3599 State Route 26, Glen Aubrey. Please note that there is a mile long driveway up to the farmstead. 

Farm hosts Pete Reynolds and Carol McGee will share their experiences ranging from establishing their pastures to building their beef and lamb markets. Topics to be covered include building grazing infrastructure, multi-species grazing and marketing, pasture management and pasture species, role and use of soil and forage testing and accessing cost share program with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and Broome County Soil and Water Conservation Service.
