Get ready to ‘Make Your Mark’

It takes a community to build a vibrant, lasting arts scene. In that spirit, the Tioga Arts Council (TAC) will launch a community art-making activity and fundraiser, called “Make Your Mark”, on the Gateway Park Deck during First Friday’s Owego Art Walk on June 2, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Beginning at the deck, located at 200 Front St., the TAC will provide a canvas, paints and brushes. Participants can let loose their inner artist, paint a stroke (or more) on the canvas, and help create community artwork.

To maximize community participation, the TAC is asking “Make Your Mark” participants to donate what they wish. Proceeds will benefit the arts council.

Also, do you knit or crochet? If so, they need volunteers to team up with other knitters, cover whole trees with yarn, and help them get ready for the 2017 Strawberry Festival.

The installation will take place during First Friday’s Art Walk.
