On Friday, April 14, the Tioga County Department of Social Services (DSS) announced that Tom Lacey had been named Employee of the First Quarter for 2017.
Lacey joined the CPS/Preventive Specialized Unit in May 2015 after having worked in Child Welfare in the states of Alaska and Pennsylvania. He quickly adapted to his new role and familiarized himself with procedures, documentation and policies.
According to Tioga County DSS, Lacey conveys a professional, caring demeanor.
DSS stated, in a release, “He is effective in communicating information and his delivery is well received by the families with whom he works. He is thoughtful and unbiased when developing plans and goals that support a balance between safety and practicality.”
DSS noted that Lacey’s most admirable strengths are his ability to bring people together and his generosity.
They added, “Since he joined the Children’s Services division, Tom has been instrumental in organizing multiple agency functions and is also a valuable member of the Local Implementation Team. Tom is an asset to the Children’s Services division and is a worthy recipient of this recognition. Congratulations Tom!”
