Celebrate May’s First Friday Art Walk with the artists of the Black Cat Gallery on Friday, May 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. There’s a lot of art and music and entertainment happening this month in Owego. Pick up your Art Walk passport and enter the art drawing.

Music at the Black Cat Gallery for May’s Art Walk will be “Triton Trio”, the husband and wife duet of Tom and Marie on guitar and bass, and banjo wizard R. J. Siegers.

Tom and Marie play acoustic covers of popular music from the 60’s and 70’s and R. J. is versatile and original on the 5-string banjo. Together, the Triton Trio puts out a sound that is sure to delight and entertain.

Enjoy a casual evening out, listen to the music, and take in some beautiful art.

The featured artist for the month of May at Black Cat Gallery is Ted Davenport, a musician and local artist. Ted turns found treasured pieces into beautiful works of art; using a classic, throughout the ages color scheme in black and white check patterns. Inspired by repurposed and one of a kind artwork, Ted creates his found objects into modern, whimsical and functional treasured art forms.

The Black Cat Gallery is currently looking for new artists. Stop in for an application or inquire through their website, blackcatgalleryowego.com, and follow them on Facebook for latest creations of jewelry, textiles, pottery, art and much more.

The Black Cat Gallery, located at 190 Front St. in Owego, is open every day.
