Saturday, April 22, is “Earth Day” and the Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation is leading a Lake Street beautification project from 8 to 11 a.m. out of its Bassett Ah-Wa-Ga Center headquarters at 34 1/2 Lake Street.
They will supply the brooms, bags, gloves, and plantings to “green up” Lake Street and the adjacent public spaces. Show up any time and make Mother Earth happy and more attractive.
In addition, they are also designating it “Kick Butts Day” will be ridding the public spaces of all the ugly, discarded cigarette butts on the sidewalks, alleyways and street. Make a difference improving Owego’s beauty and pitch in.
