International organist to perform at the Forum Theatre

On Saturday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m., David Gray, an internationally acclaimed theatre organist, will perform at the Forum Theatre located at 236 Washington St. in Binghamton, N.Y.  Presented by the Binghamton Theater Organ Society (BTOS), this award winning Scottish organist will also team up with trumpet player Frank Campos.

Born and raised in Glasgow, Scotland, and proficient and classically trained on piano, 26-year-old Gray has been delighting theatre organ audiences in the United States and abroad since winning the titles of “Young Theatre Organist of the Year” from the American Theatre Organ Society in 2005 and “Organist of the Year” in 2015.

The organ society is pairing Gray up with local trumpeter Frank Gabriel Campos, also a highly sought after performer and accomplished musician. Campos is a professor of trumpet at Ithaca College.

For the April 22 performance, the pair will present classical, popular and jazz styles.

The Binghamton Theater Organ Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and presentation of the county-owned, 4 manual, 24 rank Robert-Morton theater organ. It is one of only 300 in the world that is still being played today.

Tickets for the Aprill 22 performance are $20 for adults, $15 for BTOS members and veterans, and $5 for students. Tickets will be available at the Forum beginning two hours before the show. Call (607) 773-1495 to get your tickets today.
