Earth Fest Southern Tier is now accepting exhibitor registrations

Earth Fest Southern Tier is now accepting exhibitor registrationsThe Earth Day Southern Tier committee is now accepting exhibitor registrations for its 28th annual Earth Fest planned for Sunday, April 30 at SUNY Broome.

Local profits and non-profits interested in having a presence at Earth Fest can register at the Earth Day Southern Tier website at www.myedst.org. More than 3,000 visitors are expected, and exhibitors will provide the information and education needed for our community to make a significant, positive change to the environment.

Earth Fest will be celebrated in the Student Center gym at SUNY Broome from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The festival will feature more than 50 Earth-friendly exhibitors and vendors from local businesses, freebies including music, face-painting, seedlings and seed packets as well as children’s hands-on activities.

Past exhibitors have included local companies such as IBM, NYSEG, Toyota, Johnson Camping, Taylor Garbage and Frito Lay. Governmental exhibitors have included the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, the Broome County Division of Solid Waste, the Broome County Environmental Management Council, the Susquehanna River Basin Commission and the Cornell Cooperative Extension.

The Earth Fest is conducting its annual T-shirt logo contest again in 2017. Kashawn Stroman, from Susquehanna Valley High School, won last year’s contest and received $100 and a t-shirt with his design on it. Nearly 175 local students submitted entries. T-shirts with this year’s design winner will be for sale at the event. Information for submitting an entry can be found at http://www.myedst.org/tshirt.html

The Binghamton Zoo has been a partner and participant of Earth Day Southern Tier for 27 years.
