Stolen vehicle suspect is taken to jail for parole violation

On Feb. 9, 2017 at 8:58 a.m., the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Mirabito Gas Station located at 3 North Main St. in the Village of Newark Valley for the report of a stolen vehicle.

At approximately 2 p.m. on Feb. 9, the New York State Police located the stolen vehicle in Broome County on Watson Boulevard in Endwell.

According to the deputies who investigated the larceny, they believed that Shane M. Hildebrandt, age 28, with no permanent address, was the primary suspect in the robbery, and they located him in the immediate area of the stolen car and took him into custody on an active arrest warrant for a parole violation.

Hildebrandt is currently being held in the Tioga County Jail with no bail and the investigation into the larceny of the vehicle is continuing, with charges against Hildebrandt pending.

The New York State Police and New York State Parole assisted the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office in the case.
