On Jan. 24, 2017 at about 2 p.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Aaron J. Richards, age 23 of Endicott, N.Y. for the misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of Marihuana 5th degree, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd degree and other traffic violations. 

According to police, this arrest occurred after a traffic stop when Richards was observed driving a vehicle that did not have a working tail lamp while on State Route 434 in the Town of Owego. During the traffic stop, the trooper detected an odor of marihuana. A search of the vehicle found that Richards unlawfully possessed about 32 grams of marihuana inside it.  He was also driving while having a suspended license. 

Richards was arraigned in the Town of Owego Court and was remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 property bond. His next court date in the Town of Owego is pending.
