Demolition began this week of the Owego-Apalachin Central School District’s former Administration Building and one time elementary school, located at 36 Talcott St. in Owego.

All Around Excavating of Johnson City won the bid to demolish the building, which was destroyed in the Flood of 2011.

According to reports, All Around Excavating’s winning bid was for $126,249. The demolition includes asbestos abatement, and is being funded by FEMA.

The building at 36 Talcott St. served the school district for decades, and is another reminder of the flooding in 2011. The new administration building is now located in a new structure by the OA complex.
