On Dec. 24, 2016, the Owego and Campville Fire Departments responded to a structure fire in the area of 90 Spencer Ave. in the Village of Owego.
On Jan. 5, 2017, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office concluded an arson investigation. The investigation determined a Village of Owego juvenile that had been playing with fireworks started the fire.
The juvenile was arrested for criminal mischief in the fourth degree and is scheduled to appear before the Tioga County Probation Department at a later date.
The Tioga County Fire Investigation Team assisted with the investigation.
