Boy Scout Troop 36 is pictured at the bench they replaced in conjunction with the Tioga-Nichols Lions Club.

Boy Scout Troop 36 and the Tioga-Nichols Lions Club recently worked together to replace the old broken bench with a new bench at the Nichols Post Office.

Tioga-Nichols approached the Boy Scouts with the project. The Lions Club provided the monetary backing and the Boy Scouts designed and built the bench.

Mayor Lesley Pelotte stated, “We are very fortunate to have community groups who can work together and provide items for the Community.” She also said that many people of the community walk to the Post Office and use the bench to sit to rest and talk to neighbors.
