The Owego Moose Lodge #1595, located at 3 Goodrich Rd. in Owego, N.Y., a fraternal and family-oriented gathering place for decades, and along with the Women of the Moose (WOTM) Chapter 280, supports numerous local charitable and civic activities.
At a special fundraiser for the Moose on Oct. 8, members and guests gathered for a first annual pig roast and enjoyed live music by the band, Kin Folk. Seventy-five tickets were sold and ten total prizes were awarded which included a $2,500 first prize, $1,000 second prize, $500 third prize, and seven other prizes, two at $250 and five at $100.
The Owego moose is the venue for the second annual Fashions for Hope event, which is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 23 from 1 to 4 p.m. In recognition of October being Domestic Violence Awareness month, the event benefits A New Hope Center.
