Since it opened up on May 25, Bike Night in Owego has had record attendance for the first two weeks of the season.
The opening night began in traditional fashion with the singing of the national anthem by Owego’s own Andrea McBride, and then a performance by the Tim Ruffo Band.
Last week’s music was provided by Hummel’s Jug. Members Gene Hummel, Chad Dean, and Bob Niederriter rocked the crowd at Bike Night with their Southern Rock style combined with a bit of country.
Also on hand were family and friends of Tonya King, who was killed on a motorcycle on Memorial Day in Owego. Family members, related to Tonya King’s husband, along with friends, are raising money to assist the family following this tragic accident.

This Wednesday, L’Ectric Brew will take the stage from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. for Bike Night. L’Ectric Brew will provide a blend of classic rock and blues.
Bike Night runs every Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. in downtown Owego, and at the Parkview Hotel and Restaurant. The event is open to the community.
