A Tioga County couple was found dead in their home from an apparent murder / suicide, according to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office. According to a Sheriff’s report received just after noon on Wednesday, the bodies of Leon and Debra Rogers, both aged 60, were discovered inside their 2359 West River Rd. residence in Nichols, N.Y.
Sheriff Deputies responded to the address Tuesday morning after receiving a 911 call reporting that two bodies could be found at that residence. Deputies discovered, inside the house, the bodies of Leon and Debra Rogers – both with sustained gunshot wounds.
Concluding the results of their investigation, and a post-mortem examination of the victims performed at the Lourdes Hospital, Sheriff Investigators have concluded that Leon Rogers had placed the 911 call reporting the incident before or after shooting his wife, and then took his own life.
