On Sept. 5, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Valley Relief Council (VRC) will hold a rummage sale, basket raffles and more to continue helping their neighbors in need. To ready for the event, donations will be accepted on July 25, from 9 a.m. to noon, at The Ascension of our Lord Community Hall, 105 N. Higgins St. in Sayre, Pa. Other collection dates will be announced in the future.
The Valley Relief Council formed after the flooding of 2011 to coordinate assistance for families and individuals in need. Now, the VRC is focusing its efforts on working with qualified families in the Valley to identify home repairs that are considered safety issues.
Through fundraising and assistance from area volunteers, the VRC is working to keep residents safely in their homes.
