A parking ramp at Wilson Hospital collapsed at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2015. The ramp, according to witness accounts, had work being done on it over the past few days.
Vehicles parked on the ramp were damaged, and it was not disclosed as of the time of this reporting whether there were any injuries as a result of the collapse or if anyone was trapped as a result of the collapse.
A state of emergency was declared for the Village of Johnson City while officials assessed the scene on Thursday, and areas surrounding the parking garage have been closed.
