This emotion-provoking memorial was visible from the road this weekend and brought about a stark reminder of a tragedy that happened not too long ago.

A mother and her three children died during a fire in their home in Vestal on May 21.

Broome County fire investigators identified the family members that Thursday as 33-year-old Nicole Tarbox, her son, 13-year old Evyn, and her two daughters, 9-year-old Mya, and 3-year old Mariah.

Fifteen-year-old Shawn Tarbox Jr., another son, survived by jumping from a second story window and reported the fire. Officials said he was alerted to the fire by smoke and an active fire alarm.

The home was destroyed.

During a drive out that way last weekend, this memorial for those lost was placed at the end of the family’s driveway.

If you can, the remaining family members need help and the information is below. God Bless all of them, and prayers are needed for the surviving family members as they deal with this tragedy.

If you’d like to donate to the Tarbox family, a GoFundMe Page has been set up in their honor at http://www.gofundme.com/v53uxk3u.
