Universal Pre-K applications being accepted for 2015-16

Applications for the 2015-16 school year are now being accepted for the Owego Apalachin Central School District’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program. To be eligible for the program, children must live in the district and turn 4-years-old on or before Dec. 1, 2015.

UPK has two sites. One is at Apalachin Elementary School, while the other is at Owego Apalachin Middle School. Each UPK session will be scheduled for two-and-a-half hours, with each of the two sites having a morning session and an afternoon session.

Once a child reaches age four, the district may be able to provide transportation, but only to the morning sessions and home from the afternoon sessions. It will be the responsibility of the parent/guardian to pick up their child after the morning session, or to transport their child to the afternoon session.

If you are interested in your child being considered for this program, please complete an application and return it to Thomas Comerford, 5 Sheldon Guile Boulevard, Owego, N.Y. 13827.

Applications, health forms, and a description of other paperwork needed may be obtained in the following ways: by visiting the OA website, www.oacsd.org; by calling 687-6226; by stopping into the OA temporary administration building located behind the high school and middle school (5 Sheldon Guile Boulevard); by stopping at the Apalachin Elementary School, 405 Pennsylvania Ave., Apalachin; or the Welcome Center at the OA Middle School (3 Sheldon Guile Boulevard, Owego).
