Owego man arrested following incident with his pickup truck

On Dec. 31, the Owego Police Department (OPD) reported that on Sunday, Dec. 28 they arrested 44-year old Gregory L. Frakes, of Owego, N.Y. following a reported domestic incident.

According to OPD, an investigation found that Gregory L. Frakes intentionally damaged his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle by driving his pickup truck into it.

Subsequently, Gregory L. Frakes was charged with Criminal Mischief in the 3rd Degree, a Class E Felony; Harassment in the 1st Degree, a misdemeanor; Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree; and leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Accident, along with other traffic infractions.

It was also noted by OPD that during the arrest officers confiscated a Yugo SKS Assault Rifle.

Gregory L. Frakes was arraigned in the Village of Owego Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail on $5,000 cash bail. Further charges are pending.

Members of the Tioga County Sheriff’s Department and the New York State Police assisted the Owego Police.
