Funeral services planned for former Governor Mario M. Cuomo

The Cuomo family recently announced details of the wake and funeral arrangements for former Governor Mario M. Cuomo.

On Monday, Jan. 5, 2015, calling hours will be held between 1 and 5 p.m. and 7 and 10 p.m. at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home, located at 1076 Madison Ave. in Manhattan.

On Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015 at 11 a.m., funeral services will be held at St. Ignatius Loyola Church, located at 980 Park Ave. in Manhattan. The service will be private.

The Office of Governor Andrew Cuomo announced on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015 that former Governor Mario M. Cuomo passed away from natural causes due to heart failure while at home with his loving family at his side. He was 82 years of age. This news arrived just hours after his son, New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo delivered his inaugural address.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, Senate Majority Coalition Leader Dean Skelos, and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver also announced on Jan. 2 that due to extenuating circumstances, the Governor’s 2015 State of the State address has been rescheduled to Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 1:30 p.m. It will be held in the Empire State Convention Center.

The Senate and the Assembly 2015 legislative session will convene on Jan. 7, 2015 as mandated by the State Constitution.
