Wacky Science at the Coburn Library

If you think science is boring, come to the Coburn Free Library in Owego on Saturday, Oct. 18, and get ready to think again.

From 2 p.m. to approximately 3:30 p.m., things will fizz – things will boom – and a few things will even safely blow up, all using simple products you can find around your own home.

No, it’s not magic – it’s science, and Library Director Karen Bernardo and her assistants will be happy to explain how each experiment works. Attendees will be given booklets that detail each procedure so kids (with their parents’ assistance) can replicate their favorite experiments at home.

The event is sponsored by Senator Libous’ BOOKS program.

The Coburn Free Library is located at 275 Main St. in Owego. Phone the library at 687-3520 to register for the program; while children of any age are sure to enjoy the fun, Wacky Science at the Coburn Library would be most appropriate for children in third to fifth grades.
