On Thursday, Haefele Connect celebrated 35 years of business and service to the area with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its office in Spencer, N.Y.
In 1982, Lee Haefele already had a background in television repair and started his own local cable company called Haefele TV.
Now with changing connection needs, Haefele Connect provides high-speed Internet, HD digital cable and digital phone services to customers across the state.
Tioga County Legislative Chair, Martha Sauerbrey, emphasized that the services provided by Haefele have helped small businesses and entrepreneurs work from their home, giving them a wider reach.

She stated that by providing their services and allowing other small businesses to thrive, Haefele Connect allows for more jobs in the area as well.
Haefele Connect also provides services to areas that larger connection companies don’t, affecting homes in rural areas where connection is limited.
The company gives back to its community through projects such as the renovation of Nichols Park Pond, supporting the S-VE Community & Fitness Center, the Broome-Tioga County Relay for Life and Tioga Allies in Substance Abuse Prevention.
