Candor Library hosts ‘Coding Academy’

Computers are all around us, in our cell phones, electronics and cars, even robotic floor cleaners. This means we all need to understand more about how this technology works.

On Saturday, Dec. 9, the Candor Free Library is hosting “Coding Academy” from 1 to 3 p.m. Join them for an afternoon of computer coding fun on and off the screen, creating games, and a chance to win a hot-off-the-press coding activity book.

Coding is good for brains of all ages because it challenges and strengthens our problem solving skills. Best of all, you don’t need to know anything about computers to have fun during this workshop.

“Coding Academy” is free and open to kids of all ages, from eight to 80 (children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult). Register at the library or call 659-7258.

This event is part of “Hour of Code™”, a nationwide initiative by Computer Science Education Week and Code.org. The Candor Library is located at 2 Bank St. in Candor.
