Morris woman arrested for a felony after stealing religious items from a churchAmber N. Joy, 32, of Morris, N.Y.

On Nov. 8, 2016, at about 10:43 p.m., New York State Police at Oneonta arrested Amber N. Joy, 32, of Morris, N.Y. for the felony of grand larceny 4th degree. 

This arrest occurred after troopers investigated a theft of religious items from the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, on Main Street in the Village of Morris. An investigation determined while at the church, Joy had stolen a white alter cloth, several candles and holders and a bowl valued at about $240. 

Joy was arraigned in the Town of Morris Court where she was remanded to the Otsego County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 property bond. Her next court date is pending.
