Nick Klossner qualified for International Tournament

Nick Klossner qualified for International TournamentNick Klossner, a Tioga Central Varsity Basketball Player, qualified for and attended the International Continental Cup Tournament in Cleveland, Ohio for the thrid consecutive year. The tournament is held the week of July 4 and is attended by some of the top youth basketball, soccer and baseball teams from all over the world. Klossner attended the tournament this year with his Ithaca United team that is made up of players from Ithaca, Newfield, Tioga Central, Auburn and Union-Endicot. Klossner is a starting Guard on the Ithaca United AAU basketball team. Ithaca United was one of several teams that qualified to represent the U.S.A. in the 9th grade basketball division. Ithaca went 3-2 overall and placed third out of 10 teams. In pool play they defeated Team Mongolia, Adidas Elite and the Lake Erie Defenders. They lost in pool play to Illinois Fastbreak, the tournament champions. They qualified for the semi-finals and lost a close game by 5 points to DC United out of Canada.
