Jaelynne Lovell, a second grade student from Newark Valley, N.Y. competed in the Princess division (age four to six) of the New York State National American Miss (NAM) Pageant In Rochester, N.Y. July 9-11. She was selected as a State finalist and invited to compete with 39 other candidates from across the State following an interview process.
Jaelynne competed in the Casual wear competition, the Top Model competition and the overall competition. She was second runner up for both the Casual Wear and Top Model competitions, qualifying her to compete in both at the National NAM competition. She finished as the 3rd Runner up overall, also qualifying her to compete in the all around competition at the National NAM Pageant.
The contestants were given a cumulative score taken from four different categories – Formal wear competition, Personal introduction, a one on one interview with five judges, and community service.
This was Jaelynne’s first ever Pageant. The National Pageant will be held in Anaheim, Calif. Thanksgiving week that will include the top five finalists from every state in the Princess Division.
