Despite some rough weather, organizers, vendors and customers made the best of it during this year’s Fall Festival in Candor.

Taking place from Friday to Sunday with events spread across town, attendees were treated to an assortment of local food, art, and fun.

“I come to the fall festival every year,” said Ryan Benjamin of Candor.

With his young son, Benjamin said he particularly enjoys the annual woodcarving show.

“This is awesome, every piece takes a lot of talent and it’s amazing to see what these guys can do with some wood,” Benjamin said.

While the rain put a bit of a damper on the day, Benjamin said he still loves seeing what Candor has to offer.

“It’s cool to go around town and see what is going on,” Benjamin said.

Rita Kellogg, who, along with her husband Russell, owns Side Hill Acres in Candor, had over 35 vendors on her property this year.

“Things are going well considering the weather,” said Kellogg, adding, “People still seem to be game to go out and see what is going on.”

Along with the vendors there were games for kids, demonstrations, food samples, a barbecue, cheese and wine, and glassmaking demonstrations.

“I love coming to events like these,” said Gerard Dunphy of Danby Farms in Spencer.

Demonstrating how old blacksmith tools were used, minus a forge, Danby said he loves showing off older, locally made tools.

Nathan Michael of Fly Dye Clothing consistently drew a crowd by showing off his glassmaking skills with a blowtorch.

“I mostly just make clothing now, but I do like to show this off from time to time,” Michael said.

Hunter Ryan of Lansing said that while she didn’t have anything particular in mind that she wanted to buy, she loved looking around.

“I am always looking for decorations,” she said.
