So members of the school board said it was FEMA money for the stadium but “someone else” said budget money was used. You can’t use budget money for capital projects. So I’d bet the board members were correct.

Whoever is stealing the “Pete Charnetsky for New York Supreme Court Justice” signs on East Front Street and on 5th Avenue – please stop. And please put the signs back! You’ve taken two from each place. It is a crime to steal the signs. And it makes no sense to be targeting Pete. He’s been evaluated as highly qualified by the Broome County Bar Association and he’s a children’s advocate.

This is for everyone running for an elected office. While it is nice to put up Vote for Me signs all around the county, this does not get my vote. I want to know why the individual is running for office and what they hope to accomplish. If you are running for re-election, state what you have accomplished, and what you hope to accomplish if re-elected. Run an ad in The Pennysaver with this information so everyone knows why you should be elected to the position you are seeking.

There are various situations for the display of the flag. For most, the flag does not need to be higher than others. It generally, but not always, needs to be on the right. If you read the U.S. Flag Code you will also find we ignore it many times.

Concerning the O-A School District as well as any other agency of New York State using taxpayer dollars can be found online via SeeThroughNY.net. Searches can be made of any New York State city or county, the DEC, Fire Districts, MTA, NFTA, Police Districts, School Districts, and towns and villages; it is also a source for Contract Documents, Reports of Annualized Salary and / or Retirement payments, which in many cases can reflect qualified rehires after retirement. In this particular case the contract is a 14 page downloadable document.

Taxpayers of the Village of Newark Valley – in your village taxes, a certain amount goes to snowplowing just for the village. When you pay your countywide taxes, a certain amount comes back to the Town of Newark Valley for snow removal, which means as village taxpayers we are paying for our snow removal plus the snow removal for the town. So basically we’re subsidizing the town (DOUBLE TAX). What we need is for the Mayor and Town Supervisor to meet and do what is fair and equitable for all of Newark Valley! If they can’t or won’t, then maybe it’s time the voters of the village and town find people that can! If we’re paying county taxes, then the town should plow the village roads. Let both of them know they should work for the greater good!

I’m calling about the new building by the Town of Owego, the town garage. They’ve been working on it for four months and we haven’t heard anything about where the budget stands, why this is taking so long? Is it still an $11 million project, or is it a $15 million project, which is what the rumor is. We probably won’t hear anything until the election is over. Everybody is going to hide for a while.

Several times a day yesterday I got these robo calls from the warranty department and they were getting on my nerves. I even got it when I was in bed last night and I’m not going to get up to answer the phone if I’m in bed. Can anything be done about these because I want them to stop?

To the Owego / Apalachin Kool-Aid drinkers, just want to give you some facts to check. The OFA tax rate is $28.54 per thousand of assessment. Spencer Van Etten is $18.52 per thousand of assessment. Candor is $22.57 per thousand of assessment and the much larger Cortland enlarged school district is only $19.19 per thousand of assessment. Stop spreading the lies. The taxpayers are paying for the sports complex in Owego. Owego is so out of whack! I’m glad they’re not running my checkbook.

I have been following along with the Owego / Apalachin School District but I have to tell you, this last one made me have to call in. If my memory serves correctly, when the flood happened, FEMA paid for work to be done on the beautiful grass stadium that we had. Is the school district really expecting us to believe that this many years later FEMA has gone back and said you know what, let’s build a brand new stadium and give them a turf field. It just sounds like a whopper of a story and if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

The new bridge by the park in Nichols, there’s a lot of debris underneath there caught up. I do believe it should be removed before next spring when there are high waters again. It’s been there for quite a while, is it going to be taken care of?

Let’s get real Owego. There are 11 street lights out on Lake and Front Street. I need to see where I’m going in the dark and we need to get this fixed. Somebody should look into this.

Why on earth do people use leaf blowers? One good gust of wind and you’re back to block one. Use a vacuum, suck them up, bag them, and get rid of them.

I’m calling regarding the Owego School District. I just wanted to make taxpayers aware that positions are being made up for teachers. Do we have money to support this in the budget?

To the person calling in about Chick fil A not coming to Vestal, and why those in Owego not having a clue about it are complaining in a Tioga County paper. I want to inform them that The Owego Pennysaver is delivered to many Broome County businesses, including Weis Markets in West Corners.

Are people really that ignorant? A Chick fil A was slated for build in Broome County and the people of Tioga County knew nothing about it? Do they live under rocks? Do they realize there’s a big whole nation and world out there? Start reading your newspapers!

If the Owego / Apalachin Superintendent and Board of Education wants to put an end to all of our questions, why don’t they just show us the FEMA approval form for the stadium. With all the hurricanes and floods that we have had, I find it hard to believe that FEMA would approve tearing down the original perfectly functioning stadium to build this million dollar plus turf stadium, especially when people lost homes, vehicles, businesses, etc. Come on; show us the proof.

Climate change problems may bankrupt insurance companies. Be sure your insurance carrier is covered in case of the anticipated problems.

My message is to the Amish people. I have nothing against the Amish; and having them in our community here in Berkshire is an asset. It would be appreciated, however, if they could put some poop bags on their horses because that’s hard stuff to get off your car. If I could I’d go back to the horse and buggy days, but I can’t; so if you could just put a poop bag on your horses so it’s not all over it would be appreciated.

That crap about the Republicans wanting to cut social security comes directly from the Republicans. Ryan said it often. McConnell continues to say it. Trump’s proposed budget has cuts in it. Try to keep informed.

There was nothing illegal about Hillary’s server. There was no evidence of a successful hack. No unauthorized person had access. Custody was not lost. Nothing was sent to an unauthorized person. And that’s why she was admonished for it being careless but not charged with a crime. So now ask about Cheney outing a CIA operative (Plame) or Trump blabbing secrets to the Russian ambassador.

No matter which side of the debate you are on regarding abortion, the photo on the back of section A of the Wednesday, Oct. 15 Press and Sun-Bulletin is just plain wrong. It shows a nine-year-old girl at an abortion rights rally in New York on May 21 holding a sign, stating, “This girl is for choice.” How dare any parent get away with exploiting their child for their own purpose / agenda! This little girl is only six years out of diapers and still in elementary school. At nine, this child can’t fully comprehend what she is supposed to be supporting, physically or mentally. How can one express an opinion when you don’t fully understand what the issue is? Good thing her mother chose to let her live so she could use her in this disgusting, unethical, selfish manner. This child might better have been in school (May 21 was a school day) learning whatever she was missing in class that day; helping to make her a smart, unbiased citizen of the world able to formulate her own well researched opinions as choices in life come before her. That is true “girl power.”

A Scandinavian group just completed one of the most comprehensive climate studies ever attempted. The results refute every, not some, EVERY climate factor the nut jobs are blathering about. You can Google it yourself. Have you heard about it on the lamestream media? Of course not. Doesn’t fit the narrative. Scientists agreeing with the hoax usually have some study under way, funded by some activist group. To not agree with the hoax would cut off their funding. Think they’d do that? Nope! Not likely!

What a hoot! The Socialist Democrats yammer incessantly about the need for “transparency”. What they really want is transparency from everyone else, while they do their dirty work in the deepest darkness they can find. Example, Shifty Shiff’s questioning of people connected with the Ukraine nonsense in total “darkness”. Yeah, right. Again, do as I say, not as I do fits really, really well!

Mr. Martin’s editorial last week regarding the so-called Cuomo criminal justice reforms illustrates his abuse of power to facilitate his presidential ambitions. Consider his program to purge New York State schools of deadwood teachers, the loop-hole 2 percent property tax cap, the “Green New Deal” 100 percent carbon-free electricity by 2040, illegal alien driver licenses, take no prisoners abortion law, etc. He will never deal with the consequences of his “Green New Deal”. These were and are not for the people of New York. The teachers union nullified quality control for teachers. This and other stunts are talking points for his future presidential campaign. Democrats you need to stand tall for once and stop the insanity.

An ISIS flag has literally been raised again in Syria. The ISIS flag is flying again. Can you Trump supporters get it yet? Can you admit your king doesn’t know what he is doing? If not, when deaths start here again we will point you as responsible.

Presidents rarely appoint ambassadors. Ukraine is large and the most corrupt in Europe. It is a Deep Pocket for thieves and Swamp creatures. In 2009, Obama appoints Vice President Biden special envoy to Ukraine. While traveling with daddy in 2014, Joe’s son Hunter makes a lucrative deal with a Ukrainian criminal organization, Burisma. Ukrainian law enforcement starts investigating Hunter Biden and Burisma. Daddy intervenes on behalf of Hunter. In May 2016, Obama appoints hack Ms. Yavanovich as ambassador, who blocks communication with the DOJ. Days before the Trump inauguration, daddy again goes to Ukraine. You cannot make enough laws to keep a crook honest. Democrats, have you no shame? This applies to your Star Chamber impeachment witch-hunt.

The opinions expressed in this column overwhelm me sometimes. Why is everyone so angry and so sure they are right and unwilling to agree to disagree? I continue to read it though because it teaches me that there will always be people who think they know everything and know what is best for this country, but have never read a book, have never researched anything, and have never received higher education. We went to school and learned about how the world works and our beliefs are based on informed decisions, not some recycled garbage from some pundit we saw while drinking a 6-pack in front of the tube. And to be honest it doesn’t take an education to see that the man in charge now is an abomination to every other country in the world as a leader and as a human being. We are one of the least-educated and most violent industrialized countries, and most of the opinions I read in here every week confirm this to be true.

I think it is important for everyone to know that President Obama is responsible for Hurricane Sandy. A couple years ago the president used the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program to create that hurricane, and this is a way for him to become re-elected. The government used the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program to change the weather using electromagnetic waves, which basically means that President Obama and President Trump can control the weather. This is absolutely true, you can even Google it. This is how our government keeps us under control. They bring those hurricanes in through the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program; when we have hurricanes and floods, we are under the control of the government. This is absolutely true!

It seems to me that 90 percent of the comments are about the Republicans supporting Trump. Well, there are democrats that also live in this county; how can you evangelists, you so called Christians support a president that gave Turkey a green light to go ahead and kill God knows how many Kurds and Christians in Syria? You’re killing your own kind! Trump is nothing but a demon and you people are just easily fooled. I used to have respect for you, but I no longer do. Trump should be impeached and thrown out.

On Oct. 10, President Trump gave the best speech of his or any other president’s life. He was truthful, outspoken and totally honest. We will make America even greater. Trump will also win in 2020. Go Trump!

Follow history. Where would all you Trump people be without Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, and the safety net? You have to realize and remember that the Democratic Party delivered those things to the people of America. The Democrats look out for the people.

Thank you Nancy Pelosi for making the U.S.A. a Banana Republic, where investigations or hearings are held in secret behind closed doors and the accused has no right to due process of the law; to see their accuser or ask questions.

If Donald Trump isn’t enough reason to get rid of the Electoral College, I don’t know what is.

In a 2003 interview with New York magazine, James Comey, former FBI director, said before voting for Jimmy Carter in 1980 that he, Comey, had been a communist. John Brennan, Obama’s CIA director admitted he’d voted for the communist party at one time, as reported in Zero Hedge. This explains a lot about the deep state and the present Marxist Democratic Party leaders.

Someone called to talk about President Trump’s lies and how many. I do not see any of them. Hopefully this caller though is looking at Adam Schiff’s lies. I’m still waiting for the caller to call in with all the Russian collusion evidence and now I’m waiting on this overwhelming Ukraine evidence, and let us not forget to include Biden, Obama, and of course our pal Hillary into the lying team. They’ve got it all over Trump. I don’t see one lie from Trump.

These republicans have to make me laugh. They get on Fox News and they say the American people are entitled to know the full extent of an investigation; it should be an open meeting. Well they didn’t feel like that about the Mueller report, did they? I’ll tell you one thing, I’ve been saying it for a long time, Vladimir Putin has Donald Trump in his pocket. You don’t know how serious this is. Pay attention!

Sorry Republicans, Trump is nothing but a very bad dream. His rallies are foolish, stupid and repetitive. It’s amazing to watch how stupid he looks as the people cheer, clap, and nod their heads yes to his big lies. I wonder if he ever watches himself on film and how stupid he looks. Can’t wait until he gets impeached, he’s a crook! We need a good, intelligent leader for the United States of America.

Hunter Biden was kicked out of the Navy for snorting lines. He was arrested for having a crack pipe in his home. He had an affair with his dead brother’s wife. What a fantastic resume! No wonder he took in millions from the Ukraine and China; and I’m sure Joe Biden knew nothing about any of this.

The rich republicans who want to cut our social security are now expecting us to pay the legal fees for that self proclaimed brilliant millionaire politician, who doesn’t know to keep his mouth shut. Just how long before the Donald takes out his magic pen and declares himself emperor for life.

Very simply put, the democrats are going after President Trump for impeachment. Can somebody please call in and tell me for what? What crime did this man commit?

CNN had a dozen nattering nay bobs of negativism in the dumb democratic debate. Confused Joe Biden is done! Klobuchar was right in calling Warren’s health scheme a pipe dream. Anyone who would pick one of these moron losers as a presidential candidate needs mental counseling. Go Trump!

Trump is wearing out the United States. He’s wearing us out with his loose lips, his lies, his incompetence, and his stupidity. What a disaster. Can you people see it already?

Tioga County must be 99.9 percent republicans. The majority of the comments are nothing but go Trump propaganda. You know, there are a lot of democrats and we have rights and we’ve got a say. How about printing some of our opinions.
