J Floyd, who coordinated entertainment for Saturday’s International Day of Peace Festival, will be performing himself on the indoor stage, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.
J Floyd is a songwriter playing roots and blues using unique rhythms and lyrical phrasing, and a warm tone to tell a story that the audience can feel.
With a stage presentation that looks like something out of a 1920s speakeasy, the listener is easily transported to another time. Mix in droning rhythms, a suitcase kick drum, storytelling, and Kurtis Parker’s mesmerizing violin playing and you have the J Floyd experience.
Be sure to catch him at Saturday’s 1st International Day of Peace Festival in Owego from 3 to 4:30 on the Indoor Stage.
The festival and ‘Stand for Peace’ event will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Owego Schoolhouse Antiques, located on 100 Elm St. in Owego. The event is free of charge, and a formation will take place at the peace sign at 2 p.m.
There will be food vendors on site, 80 antique vendors, plenty of parking, and bands performing inside and outside by the peace sign. To learn more, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/2348835255367597/.
