The Tioga United Way, Inc. is pleased to announce that tickets for the popular fundraiser, Dancing United with the Starz ’19, will go on sale Friday, Sept. 13 at noon. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Tioga United Way office located at 24 State Route 96 in the Turner House. Due to limited staffing, phone or online sales are not available. Tickets are $70 dollars each and individuals may purchase up to 12 tickets.
If you are looking for an exceptional experience, with a unique view of the dance floor, you may want to consider a Sweetheart table. A limited number of these tables for two guests at $300, or four guests at $600 are available. These exclusive tables are located on the stage and will have special amenities (including champagne).
Dancing United with the Starz ’19 will be held on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. It will again take place in the Grand Ballroom at Tioga Downs Casino and Resort, located on River Road in Nichols, N.Y.
A unique evening of entertainment, Dancing United with the Starz features local celebrities (Mike Murphy, Mike Anderson, Mandy Neira, Sonny DeWitt, Jennifer Brockner, Todd Chandler, Patrick Ousterout, Jody Rose Phillips, Lauren Edsall, and Meredith Sagor) and their dance instructors (Jocelyn Bailey, Karen Harriell, Tim Sayers, Philip Herin, Merlin Joseph, Geraldo Iglesias, Tina Christina, Jean Graham, Emily Silvela, and John Silvela). These couples have practiced for months in order to bring the audience great performances!
Two Mirror Ball trophies will be awarded – Judge’s Choice and People’s Choice. A panel of four dance professionals determines the winning team for the Judge’s Choice. The People’s Choice trophy is presented to the couple that receives the most votes (dollars).
You may cast your vote for your favorite dancers online at tiogaunitedway.com until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30. Vote high and vote often – there is no limit to the number of votes you can make. You can also support your favorite dancers by attending their fundraisers and by dropping your dollars in their buckets at local businesses.
By voting for your favorite couple, you are supporting the 34 agencies of Tioga United Way that address food insecurity, domestic violence, literacy, dispute resolution, and environmental education, and offer programs for the disabled, the elderly, the isolated, those who are hungry, and the youth of Tioga county.
