Details of Armed Robbery in Nichols released

On Friday, Aug. 30, 2019 at approximately 12:15 p.m., the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an armed robbery at Community Bank, 41 East River Rd. in the Village of Nichols. 

The initial investigation revealed that a male subject had entered Community Bank and displayed a pistol while demanding money.

Following the initial investigation, the Sheriff’s Office arrested 31-year-old Adam M. Robinson, of 4512 West River Rd. in Nichols, for Robbery first degree (class B felony), Criminal use of a firearm first degree (class B felony), and Grand larceny fourth degree (class E felony).

Robinson was arraigned by Justice Michael Grinage in the Nichols Town Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond. Robinson is scheduled to reappear in the Nichols Town Court on Sept. 4, at 11 a.m.

Members of the New York State Police and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation assisted the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
