DSS names Linda Myers as Employee of the Quarter

On July 25, the Tioga County Department of Social Services (DSS) announced that Linda Myers, Community Services Worker, had been named Employee of the Second Quarter 2019.

In a press release, officials from DSS stated that this award is given in recognition of Linda Myers’ outstanding work and contributions to the Tioga County Department of Social Services. 

Linda began her career with Tioga County DSS in June 1990 when she was hired as a Typist. In October 1994, she was promoted to Community Services Worker. Since April 2007, she has been an integral part of the HEAP and Energy Unit.

During the busy HEAP season, Linda spends much of her time on the phone as well as mentoring seasonal staff as needed. The release stated that during the 2018-2019 season, she assumed extra duties without sacrificing the quality of her existing duties.

DSS summarized the recognition in the release, stating, “As part of a recent restructuring of the off-season HEAP unit, Linda has been assigned overlapping job functions, which she does with a smile! She is kind and patient with our customers making her the perfect face and voice for the agency.”
