On June 17, 2019, at approximately 9:20 p.m., New York State Police at Owego responded to a motorcycle accident with serious injuries in the 400 block of Spencer Road in the town of Candor. The operator of the motorcycle later died from his injuries.
For an unknown reason, the operator of the motorcycle failed to negotiate a curve, entered a field and suffered multiple internal injuries. The operator of the motorcycle was identified as Jeremy S. Taylor, age 41 of Horseheads, N.Y.
Taylor was transported by Candor EMS to Guthrie Hospital where he was pronounced deceased. A witness told troopers that the motorcycle was traveling in a westerly direction when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction failed to dim its high beams; but it is unknown if that caused Taylor to crash.
