Be it painting, singing, sculpting, sewing, writing, cooking, speaking or gardening, Owego will be filled with an array of art and artists as Owego First Friday celebrates “Art In Motion” this Friday, June 7 beginning at 6 p.m.

While over a dozen participating locations will provide special events, dining and shopping specials, the Historic Owego Marketplace and sponsors will provide outdoor entertainment as you stroll the streets of Downtown Owego. Outdoor events include some of the following.

Live music from Ithaca based singer / songwriter Andrew Alling. While following the Grateful Dead around in the late ‘80’s and ‘90’s, Andrew supported himself as a street musician, playing in 46 states and honing his craft as a one of a kind Busker along the way. Andrew is a one-man, three-piece jam band playing guitar, organ bass pedals and harmonica.

Local artists Suzanne Lachman and Michael Husted. Suzanne combines her love for painting with the natural world around her. Working in the oil and acrylic medium Suzanne brings to life scenes from gardens, forests and countryside, including the hills and valleys of Tioga County. Michael is well known locally as a professional jewelry designer. Michael’s approach to painting is to create images that are appealing to the eye while challenging the view to catch a glimpse of the world as seen through his lens. Both will be demonstrating their art live and in motion!
