Child safety seat check event slated for March 30

The Endicott Fire Department will be hosting a free child safety seat check event on Saturday, March 30, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at its facility located at 224 Madison Ave.

No appointments are necessary.

Technicians will check for proper seat installation, expiration and recall status of seats, and that the seat is appropriate for the child based on age, weight, height and development.

Officials ask that those interested in the event bring their vehicle, child, safety seat, and if available, the manuals for the seat and vehicle.

The event is funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration with a grant from the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, and supported by the local police department, Broome County Traffic Safety Program, New York State Police and the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.

For more information, contact Christine Muss at the Broome County Health Department at (607) 778-2807.
