On Jan. 7, 2019, at 2:28 p.m., the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one-car fatal motor vehicle accident on State Route 96 in the Town of Candor.
According to the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was traveling in a northerly direction on State Route 96 when it went off of the westerly side of the roadway and struck several objects, including a utility pole.
The driver, 58-year-old Kevin J. Robinson, of Candor, N.Y., who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was found to be deceased.
The Candor Fire Department, Candor EMS, Owego Fire Department, the Campville Fire Department, New York State Department of Transportation and NYSEG assisted the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
The investigation, by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Accident Investigation Unit, is ongoing at this time.
