Drug Free Communities Grant awarded to Tioga County; community invited to announcement event

The community is invited to a special event on Jan. 14 that will announce the award of the Drug Free Communities grant to Tioga County Allies in Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) Coalition. The announcement will take place on Jan. 14 from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Hubbard Auditorium located at 56 Main St. in Owego.

There, members of the media will hear about the grant and all of the exciting things planned for communities in Tioga County. Grants are provided to community Coalitions to strengthen the collaboration among local partners to create and sustain a reduction in local youth substance abuse.

With the support from the Community Services Board and County Legislature, Tioga County has made substance abuse prevention, treatment, and recovery services a main priority. They are excited to share this information with the media and the community.
