Tioga County ASAP Coalition announces ‘Do 1 Thing’ event

On behalf of the Tioga County Allies in Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) Coalition, Chairwoman Martha Sauerbrey, of the Tioga County Legislature, recently invited community members and community organizations to the second annual “Do 1 Thing – ASAP!” – a morning event on Jan. 17, held at 8 a.m. at the Elks Club, located on the corner of Church and Front Streets in Owego.

The purpose of this event is to celebrate the many contributions made by Coalition and community members this past year to help prevent and reduce the prevalence of substance abuse in Tioga County.

According to a release received last week by the Tioga County ASAP Coalition, they noted that all efforts, big and small, have and will continue to make positive differences in our community.

The release continued, “To highlight the incredible impact of community engagement when combating issues related to substance abuse, the ASAP Coalition is encouraging community members to ‘Do 1 Thing.’ Whether it is donating of one’s time, talents, abilities, or resources everyone can commit to an individual act of good that will help prevent and reduce the negative impacts of substance abuse in our local communities.”

Join the ASAP Coalition, and community members as they work to promote and improve overall community health, engagement and well-being in Tioga County.

The Owego Kitchen will provide coffee and breakfast snacks and there is no charge for this event.
