Not race through the stores….

Till we all fall apart….

It was never intended….

To be this way….

It was meant for reindeer….

And Santa in his sleigh….

Mistletoe hung….

And garland galore….

Colorful lights…..

From ceiling to floor….

A great big tree….

About 10-feet tall….

And an angel perched….

A top of it all….

Large silver ornaments…. 

Garnish each limb….

String the popcorn….

It’s just the right trim….

A few hand made ornaments….

To finish the rest….

Just a few pine cones….

Now that is the best….

Wait one more thing….

Has to be hung….

Peppermint candy canes….

Now it is done….

A large plaid skirt….

To cover the base….

Around the edge…

Trimmed with lace….

Snug at the trunk….

With just the right fit….

A place for Santa….

To place all the gifts….

It’s time for dad….

To come and see….

What mom and I ….

Did to the tree…

.Just a few more days….

Until he is here….

A big red suit….

And a bright white beard….

A pair of black boots….

With a belt buckle too….

A red and white hat….

That matches his suit…

He flies into town….

Every Christmas Eve…

I don’t know how he gets….

Down the chimney with ease….

With A big sack of gifts….

He sneaks through the house….

Stuffing the stockings….

Before he heads out….

At just about midnight….

If you look into the sky….

You will see a fast streak….

But don’t blink your eyes…

Make sure you put out….

The milk and the cookies….

Maybe he won’t remember….

The time you played hooky….

If you stay real quiet….

You might be able to hear….

Santa up on the roof….

With his reindeer….

When you wake up….

At the crack of dawn….

Make sure you stretch….

And have a big yawn….

Run down stairs….

Without making a sound….

All by yourself….

Try not to fall down….

Catch a snowflake….

On the tip of your tongue….

Just like a child….

When we were young….

A Merry Christmas….

Comes only once a year….

Say I love you….

And have no fear….

Reach out to others….

Do what you can….

Why not volunteer….

And lend a hand….
