Does anyone know why Mick Dwyer no longer does the weather on Fox 40? I miss seeing him.

How can we reignite a push to build a bridge over the Susquehanna from Hooper Road to the Town Square Mall? That sure makes sense to me. We pay enough in New York State road taxes and every other darn tax, how about a bridge between Hooper Road and Town Square Mall? Politicians, let’s get rolling!

I would like to thank the two gentlemen who returned my wallet to me at my home on Friday after I lost it at Scott, Smith & Son. They returned it to me at my home and I thank them very much but I’d also like to thank them publicly. There are good people and honest people in the world and they were two wonderful gentlemen that did that for me that day and would like to thank them.

They say everyone is created equal. I’ve worked hard all my life and I pay for my medical plan. I feel government workers should pay the same price as I pay for mine. A lot of our tax money goes to their benefits. 

~

I see in this column where people are complaining about the snowplows not cleaning their roads until after 11 in the morning. There’s a town in northern Tioga County that has a snowplow driver plow from the beginning of his shift until the end of his shift. Many days during that time he plows the same road three times a day, over and over.

Senator Fred Akshar should be looking into why many properties did not receive their property tax refund yet. Many received theirs in July and August. People who have not received their checks yet are the very poor, most of them make $14,000 or less and do not have to file income taxes but they still have to pay property taxes every year. Then these people are sent paperwork to fill out and have five days to send back. The main question the state is interested in is, do you make more than $275,000 in income. Claudia Tenney received hers when she was running for the congressional seat. This shows the state and the government do not care for the poor. They will help the middle class and the rich.

The person who wrote in about the difference between two roads – Anderson Hill Road is plowed by the town of Candor and Glenmary Drive is a county road. The County uses pure salt, the town doesn’t. If the town used all salt they would have to raise taxes to be able to afford it. We live in New York State, all roads in this area or entire state will not be perfectly clear at all times. People need to go slow and leave early to get to their destination. Plus the Town of Candor is already working with a small crew of maybe six. The town board members need to go for a ride with these men and women on a bad stormy day and see what they face out there, even the county board members. These men and women put their lives at stake just for you taxpayers to get to and from.

It floors me how long it takes Tioga Central to publish their Board of Education minutes. It seems to me like they should be published within days of board approval, but it is weeks or longer! What are they trying to hide from us taxpayers?

Shame on you, Spencer Town Board. A 3.9 percent increase to repair three bridges. It is because of your incompetence that these bridges had gotten to the bad shape that they are in. The damage did not occur in the last flood. The damage occurred in the last 20 floods over a period of 30 years. It was well known by this board and the boards before them. This Board has neglected repairing the problem and is now crying to the state for help and hit the taxpayer with a big tax increase. The money that was spent on the bridge across the cow creek on South Hill Road would have fixed them all. Like I said, incompetent leadership and poor planning. This “good ole boy” Town Board has got to go. You cannot be trusted to look out for the Town.

I’m just wondering how long that moron is going to be in the White House, him and his family. If they don’t get him out of there soon I don’t think we will have a country left.

Now in 80 years I thought I had seen and heard most everything. But could you even imagine a yellow-headed president getting on national television and discussing navy maneuvers with a captain of a naval ship in dangerous territory? I cannot believe that jackass did on that television and asked questions about how the machine was operating, the ship mind you, what it was operating on and to the extent of being a complete jackass! Why are we allowing this? What is wrong with us? It’s not right!

How many times have your heard, I’ll say your six to eight year old child say, “I hate” “I hate”. Now how many times did you hear that president’s speech say “I hate” “I hate”. Isn’t there enough hate in the world without Trump getting up there and repeating it? What have we done? Think about it. Kick him out!

Well the president will shut down the border with the approaching caravan. Hallelujah! What a wonderful man we have at the helm that has only to protect the American people. That’s what a real president does and all you Trump naysayers can whistle Dixie, but you will be safe in your beds! Thank God for Donald Trump!

Chief Justice John Roberts says there are no Obama judges and that the judicial branch is nonpartisan. Give me a break! Half of the Supreme Court is as politically motivated as the Marxist Democrat leadership. Roberts is a turncoat that handed Obama a gift on a silver platter, that being Obamacare. Ginsburg should have retired 10 years ago but she remains only so that Trump will not be able to appoint a real constitutional judge.

Can you imagine if Trump was a Catholic? How long he would be in a confessional? He is up to 6,000 lies since he took office. What a shame for an adult to lie so much. It’s disgusting!

I’m just counting the days until the Democrats take over the house and finally get control and hold that worthless human rights violator, Trump, responsible for his actions. He is a terrorist, he is just like Putin, he is just like the idiot in North Korea and you Republican Trump lovers, if you don’t like it go to Russia and live. You can live like the Russians if you want to but not in this country, this country wasn’t built on this.

Whenever I, as a teenager, tried to crash the gate at a dance or climb a fence at a baseball game, a cop came and threw me out. When I see people throwing rocks and bottles at our brave men and women at our border I wonder what would have or should have happened to me if I did that to the cops back then when I was a teenager. This caravan sure looks like an invasion to me! Thank God Trump wants to protect the American people, as he should. What would North Korea do to throngs of people trying to crash through their southern border? We are a country of morons, period! And I prefer to keep it that way.

How simple, we sure do need a border wall. Do you lock your house doors at night? During the day?

Yes, I still say we need to secede from New York City, then we would have a Republican governor and lower taxes all around and you wouldn’t have to worry about this stupid 60/40 split.

After reading a lot of the comments in the Owego Pennysaver, I have to come to the conclusion that most of the comments that support the Republican party and really criticize the Democrats are either made by people of very low intelligence or is a joke of some kind. Don’t they have anybody with any intelligence in the Republican Party around here?

Have any readers heard of any Hollywood residents, Democrats or left-wingers, offering to take these migrants into their homes to take care of them and support them? After all, it is them pushing for open borders. If you’ve heard of any please respond to this column, as I’m very curious.

I wonder if we could get a Broncos uniform big enough to fit Hillary? The color is right, orange, like prison jump suits, which she should be wearing.

The hard leaning left and the newest version of the progressive Democrat wants to have a more liberal progressive government with government provided and controlled health. A federal provided system fashioned as being more global and functioning as the European Union. Since 2002, Belgium, home to the European Union, has provided health care benefits to have 10,000 people (annually= 625: 11.5 M POP) put to death. Where it is legal for doctors to euthanize patients who have psychiatric problems that cause “unbearable and untreatable” suffering stemming from mental health reasons such are the most common conditions of depression, personality disorder and Asperger’s, a mild form of autism. Is this where we will be in 16 years?

Has anyone else noticed that in the pictures in the media of these “migrants” in the caravan that they all appear to be well fed, well clothed, haircut, neat, and orderly? I’ve also noticed that many have cameras; expensive (upwards of $1,000) SLR digital cameras. If they’re so impoverished, how is any of this true? In order to cover the distance they supposedly have traveled, they would have to travel about 71 miles per day. Trained, hardened military can manage about 25 miles per day. How is this possible?

Per the caller who asks if you still want to secede from New York State when the tax and spend balance is so favorable for Upstate. YES. Upstate tax and spend would be much less without the institutionalized corruption of Tammany Hall. It is better to go to sleep poor and moral, than wake up a rich crook. Corruption is violation of statutory law and moral norms. As documented three times in the past 18 months there are not enough laws to keep Cuomo honest. I love our New York, but hold my head in shame. Does anything more need be said than Cuomo, Spitzer, Schneiderman, Silver, Skelos, etc.

Our president has done it again, threatening to declassify U.S. documents if the democrats hold him accountable for his actions. When will the American people wake up? He’s a terrified caged rat who will strike at anyone who crosses him. He is becoming more dangerous each passing day; you see it in his tweeting.

Our esteemed leader now expects General Motors to continue building cars they can’t sell just to keep people working. Easy to see why he went bankrupt six times. By the way, why do we now have to dole out billions to build a wall when he told us Mexico would pay for?
