Tioga United Way’s Dancing United with the Starz ’18 fundraiser will take place Saturday, Dec. 1, at 7 p.m. in the grand ballroom of the Tioga Downs Casino & Resort.
An evening of performances, fun and entertainment, this sold out event is modeled after the hit TV show where 11 local celebrities – Sarah Darling, Ryan Wilson, Suzan Williams, Tia Wright, Jamie Holliday, Joe Yaman, Mike Kania, Charlie Otto, Kara Conrad, Sabrina Slater, and Ian Barrett-Sargent – will partner with instructors Jocelyn Bailey, Karen Harriell, Jessica Lawrence, Peggy and Tim Sayers, John Silvela, Philip Herin, Harrison Wright, Annie Graham, Merlin Joseph and Geraldo Iglesias to dance their way into your hearts.
Two Mirror Ball Trophies will be awarded: the Judge’s Choice and the People’s Choice. A panel of four judges will determine the Judge’s Choice. The People’s Choice will be given to the couple that receives the most votes (dollars).
You can cast your vote online for your favorite dancers on the tiogaunitedway.com website until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 28. There is NO LIMIT to the number of votes you can make, so everyone is encouraged to vote high and vote often.
If you do not have a PayPal account, you can still vote using check or cash or credit card (some have even donated a winning scratch off lottery ticket).
By voting for your favorite dancing couple, you are supporting 34 agencies who address food insecurity, domestic violence, literacy, dispute resolution, environmental education and offer programs for the disabled, the youth, the elderly, the isolated and more.
